Self Defence
Overview
This training is customised to meet the specific needs of each of our clients, taking into account the duties of individual personnel, workplace policies and protocol, interaction with customers/clients/the general public, workplace environment, fieldwork, associated risk factors, and potential harm.
Objectives
The key objectives of this training are to:
- Impart various awareness, fear management, personal safety and self-empowerment skills so that participants may proactively prevent harm or violence from being directed at them
Or, if proactive strategies are not possible, to:
- Protect themselves physically and psychologically when directly faced with threat, aggression, or imminent physical attack
Outcomes
Some expected outcomes for participants would include:
- An understanding of the myths and facts relating to violence
- Awareness of strategies and exercises to build confidence and sense of self
- Knowledge of proactive, empowering skills to help eliminate fear
- Reduction of vulnerability to abuse, aggression and violence
- Development of a range of simple, effective, and appropriate self protection skills to deal with violence should an attack ever occur
